OpenMandible: An open-source framework for highly realistic numerical modelling of lower mandible physiology
نویسندگان
چکیده
Computer modeling of lower mandible physiology remains challenging because prescribing realistic material characteristics and boundary conditions from medical scans requires advanced equipment skill sets. The objective this study is to provide a framework that could reduce simplifications made inconsistency (in terms geometry, materials, conditions) among further studies on the topic. OpenMandible offers: 1) first publicly available multiscale model developed by combining cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) ?CT imaging modalities, 2) C++ software tool for generation simulation-ready models (tet4 hex8 elements). In addition application conventional (Neumann Dirichlet) conditions, introduces novel geodesic wave propagation - based approach incorporating orthotropic micromechanical cortical bone, unique algorithm muscles as uniformly directed vectors. base intact includes (spongy compact bone), 14 teeth (comprising dentin, enamel, periodontal ligament, pulp), simplified temporomandibular joints, masticatory (masseter, temporalis, medial, lateral pterygoid). complete source code, executables, showcases, sample data are freely public repository: https://github.com/ArsoVukicevic/OpenMandible. It has been demonstrated slightly editing baseline model, one can different “virtual” treatments or diseases, including tooth restoration, placement implants, bone degradation, others. eases community undertake broad range topic, while increasing their consistency reproducibility. At same time, needs dedicated skills developing simulation significantly reduced.

An Open Framework for Highly Concurrent
Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation is becoming a significant tool in prototyping complex, highly available systems. The HIL approach allows an engineer to build a physical system incrementally by enabling real components of the system to seamlessly interface with simulated components. It also permits testing of hardware prototypes of components that would be extremely costly to test in the d...
متن کاملSOMA2 – open source framework for molecular modelling workflows
During the last five years, we have developed and deployed a molecular modelling workflow environment at the Finnish IT Center for Science CSC. The SOMA2 environment [1-3] is a web server based system offering a framework for integrating molecular modelling applications, including molecular data exchange. SOMA2 allows users to combine software available in the computing system into unique workf...
متن کاملRisk Framework for Open Source Applications Using Agent Oriented Modelling
This paper aims to propose a novel risk framework utilizing agent oriented modelling in order to provide guidelines for the adoption of Open Source Software (OSS) solutions to an organization. Multiple studies have focused on user requirements and technical aspects when implementing OSS solutions. However, there is a lack of literature focusing on the social aspects of ‘why’ and ’how’ risks of ...

متن کاملOpen Source Software Ecosystems: Towards a Modelling Framework
Open source software ecosystem modelling has emerged as an important research area in software engineering. Several models have been proposed to identify and analyse the complex relationships in OSSecosystems. However, there is a lack of formal models, methodologies, tool support, and standard notations for OSS-ecosystems. In this paper we propose a general framework for support the OSSecosyste...
